- Born on November 3, 1979, in the city of Kirovske (since 2016 - Krestivka) in the Donetsk region. Graduated from the Kirovske secondary school, and in 1999 - from vocational technical school No. 72 in Kirovske, specializing as an "underground electrical mechanic." From 1999 until the early 2000s, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From August 6, 2014, to May 31, 2018, he served in the special police patrol battalion "Luhansk-1" of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk region (since 2015 - the special police patrol battalion "Luhansk-1" of the Main Department of the National Police in the Luhansk region), with the last position being a police officer of the 1st platoon of the 2nd company of the special police patrol battalion. Since August 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. He carried out combat missions in the areas of the cities of Lysychansk, Sievierodonetsk, Shchastia, the village of Krymske in the Novoaidar district, the city of Zolote in the Popasna district of the Luhansk region, and the city of Debaltseve in the Donetsk region. Recently, he lived in the city of Lysychansk in the Luhansk region. Since June 2018, he served under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as the commander of the command vehicle platoon of the reconnaissance company of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Daniel of the Operational Command "West" of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0998 (field post V4680), in the city of Yavoriv, Lviv region). Since the summer of 2018, he participated in the Joint Forces Operation in eastern Ukraine. Call sign "Shubin." On August 8, 2018, Junior Sergeant Dmytro Ukrainsky, as part of a reconnaissance group near the entry-exit control point "Maiorske" (north of the city of Horlivka in the Donetsk region) in the so-called "gray zone," was carrying out a combat mission to detect the enemy in a designated area. During the advance, the unit fell into an enemy ambush. To ensure the withdrawal of the main group from the task area, the covering group engaged in battle. Junior Sergeant Dmytro Ukrainsky, along with a 19-year-old soldier, fought against superior enemy forces. After ensuring that the main group had retreated from the task area, Junior Sergeant Dmytro Ukrainsky ordered his comrade to withdraw. He remained in place among the enemy, covering the retreat of the young soldier. Junior Sergeant Dmytro Ukrainsky was killed in this battle. He was considered missing in action. His body fell into the hands of militants and was handed over to the Ukrainian side only on August 10, 2018.
