- Serviceman Dmytro Yavnyi died on June 24, 2024, while performing a combat mission in the Luhansk region. He was 34 years old. Dmytro lived in the town of Khorostkov, Ternopil region. He held the position of a 5th class locomotive inspector and repair mechanic at the locomotive maintenance facilities of the Ternopil Locomotive Depot of the Lviv Railway. His colleagues described him as a highly qualified repair specialist with a creative nature. In addition to his talent for repairing and maintaining complex equipment, the man had a talent for drawing. "Dmytro was a man of action, taciturn, calm, restrained, and at the same time persistent in his work," recalls shift foreman of the locomotive depot Pavlo Mazur (under whose leadership Dmytro worked and over 15 years of work progressed from a beginner to a highly qualified specialist). "He was very responsible in his work, carried it out thoroughly and never hesitated to ask for advice. By the way, his love of drawing also came in handy. During the painting of locomotives, Dmytro was asked to perform the most delicate work that required patience and accuracy..." Dmytro was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the end of February 2024. After training at the training ground, the defender as part of an air mobile unit performed combat missions on the front line. He left behind a daughter and other relatives.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
