- Senior Sergeant Dmytro Artemenko (call sign Volunteer) was killed on March 14, 2023 while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Verkhnyokamyanske in the Donetsk region. The defender was forever 40 years old. Dmytro was from the Dnipropetrovsk region. He lived in the village of Ocheretuvate. He studied at the Ocheretuvate Secondary School. In 2005, he graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk State Agrarian and Economic University. He worked as an agronomist. During the full-scale war, Dmytro fought against the occupiers in the ranks of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa. He was a tank commander. He took part in battles in the Donetsk region. "I am the sister of the fallen warrior who heroically fought for Ukraine. He wanted his parents, his son, his sister, his brother-in-law, his nieces, and his wife to live in peace, so that those who killed him would not reach them. I am proud of my brother! He saved a lot of guys. Only him they couldn't save..." said Alina Shepeleva. Dmytro was buried in the village of Ocheretuvate, Dnipropetrovsk region. The defender left behind his parents, his wife Svitlana, his son Oleksiy, his sister Alina, and his nieces: Iryna, Anna, Sofiya, and Yulia.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
