Dmytro O. Chaika

Senior soldier Dmytro Chayka died on September 25, 2022, in a hospital in Dnipro from severe wounds sustained while defending the Fatherland. Dmytro was born in the village of Serhiivka in the Odesa region. He obtained a cooking profession at Bereziv Professional Technical School No. 19. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). During the full-scale war, he served under contract in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a shooter in the 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade. "The pain is unbearable... He will forever be in our hearts," noted the warrior's wife. "The resident of the village of Serhiivka, Dmytro Chayka, who selflessly and diligently went to defend our country, is no more. Sincere and deep condolences to his family and friends, to all who knew this wonderful person personally. Eternal memory and the Kingdom of Heaven to you, Dmytro..." - wrote the Serhiivka community. The serviceman was buried in the village of Bilenke in the Odesa region. Dmytro is survived by his wife Olha and their little son Marko.
