Biography
Dmytro Oleksiyovych Karbovsky was born on April 8, 1998, in the village of Novi Borovychi, Snovskyi District, Chernihiv Oblast. In 2015, he graduated from a general education school of I-III degrees in his native village, after which he enrolled in the Chernihiv National Technological University to study "Automobile Transport." In 2019, he voluntarily decided to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in military unit A2298 and took part in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) in Eastern Ukraine. With the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was mobilized and was on the front lines. He held the position of a second-category sniper and a scout in the second reconnaissance platoon. He was killed on March 20, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the village of Selets in the Narodytska settlement territorial community of the Korosten District in Zhytomyr Oblast. Dmytro Karbovsky was buried on March 23, 2022, at the Smolyan cemetery in Zhytomyr, as his native village was under occupation at that time. His body was reburied on December 16, 2022, in the village of Novi Borovychi in Chernihiv Oblast. For personal courage and selfless actions demonstrated in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as loyalty to the military oath, Dmytro Oleksiyovych Karbovsky was posthumously awarded the Order of “For Courage” of the third degree.Burial place
