Dmytro O. Kokorin

Military pilot Dmytro Kokorin died on May 11, 2024, while carrying out a combat mission in the Zaporizhzhia direction. The defender was forever 22 years old. Dmytro was born in Chuhuiv, Kharkiv region. He lived in Kharkiv. He dreamed of flying. He consciously chose a military career. In 2019-2023, he studied at the Ivan Kozhedub Kharkiv National University of the Air Force of Ukraine. From August 2023, he served in the 11th separate brigade of army aviation "Kherson" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of helicopter pilot-navigator of the helicopter link of the helicopter squadron. During the full-scale invasion, the young officer bravely and courageously carried out combat missions and believed in victory over the occupiers. "He promised me to return home in a week, but I had no idea that he would return not the way I wanted... He was the kindest person in this world. He always honorably fulfilled his combat missions. On May 11, I was left alone, without the dearest person in my life..." - shared the officer's wife Darya. Dmytro was buried in cemetery No. 18 in Kharkiv. At home, his parents and wife were waiting for him. Posthumously, the military rank of senior lieutenant was awarded to the soldier, and he was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 3rd degree.
