- Born on March 12, 1992, in the urban-type settlement of Ripky, Chernihiv Oblast. In 2009, he graduated from secondary school No. 2 in the urban-type settlement of Ripky, in 2011 - from the State Vocational and Technical Educational Institution "Zamhlai Agricultural Vocational School" (urban-type settlement of Zamhlai, Ripky District, Chernihiv Oblast) with a specialty in "tractor driver-machine operator in agricultural production," and in 2013 - from the Nizhyn Agrotechnical Institute of the National University of Bioresources and Nature Management of Ukraine (city of Nizhyn, Chernihiv Oblast) with a specialty in "electric technician." In 2012-2013, he served his mandatory military service as a driver-electrician in the 95th Separate Airborne Brigade of the High Mobility Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0281, city of Zhytomyr). From February 13, 2014, he served under contract as a driver-electrician in the engineering equipment section of the engineering-position platoon of the engineering-sapper company of the 95th Separate Airborne Brigade of the High Mobility Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0281, city of Zhytomyr). Since April 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On April 28, 2014, at 9:50 AM, soldier Dmytro Kurilenko and junior sergeant Maksym Rymbaliuk were conducting a daily inspection of engineering barriers around the perimeter of the base camp of the 95th Separate Airborne Brigade in the area of the village of Kutuziivka, Dobropillia District, Donetsk Oblast. While performing the task, the servicemen triggered a mine. As a result of the explosion, soldier Dmytro Kurilenko was injured in the neck and head by shrapnel, while junior sergeant Maksym Rymbaliuk sustained leg injuries. After receiving first aid, the paratroopers were airlifted to the Military Medical Clinical Center of the Northern Region in the city of Kharkiv. During the evacuation, around 12:00 PM, soldier Dmytro Kurilenko died from the shrapnel wounds he sustained. On May 1, 2014, he was buried at the Pishchanyvskyi Cemetery in the urban-type settlement of Ripky, Chernihiv Oblast.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
