Dmytro O. Mishchanchuk (Shustryi)

Defender Dmytro Mishchanchuk (call sign Shustry) died on June 8, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. The warrior is now forever 23 years old. Dmytro was born in the city of Vilniansk, Zaporizhzhia region. He studied at the Academy of the State Penitentiary Service in Chernihiv. He worked at PJSC "Zaporizhstal" as a machine adjuster and held the position of junior inspector of the supervision and protection department at the Vilniansk Correctional Colony No. 20. From childhood, he professionally engaged in football, and in 2008 he took first place in Ukraine in yard football. He loved fishing, outdoor recreation, and cooking very much. The man stood up to defend his Motherland in April 2022. He was a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the ranks of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade "Magura". He held the position of M2 "Bradley" mechanic-driver. He fought on the Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia directions. "I lost my only son, which means I lost everything: hope, support, the meaning of life. Dima was a very cheerful, happy person, a person-smile, a ray of sunshine. He had a lot of friends, he devoted his free time to football training, he loved this sport very much," said the mother of the fallen warrior, Olga Mushenok. The hero was buried in his hometown. At home, Dmytro was awaited by his mother, grandmother, aunt, and cousin. After the death of the warrior, tournaments are held annually in Vilniansk to honor the memory of Dmytro Mishchanchuk.
