Dmytro O. Mishchenko (Starshyna)

Main Sergeant Dmytro Mishchenko (call sign Starshyna) was killed on May 6, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the village of Dolyna in the Donetsk region. The warrior was 34 years old. Dmytro was born and lived in Mykolaiv. He obtained the profession of a cook at a vocational school. He served his conscription military service and decided to connect his life with the army. In 2006, he signed his first contract and became a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He underwent many trainings at military educational institutions, received the rank of sergeant, which he was very proud of. The army became his calling, as the man lived for military affairs. In his free time, he played football as a defender. During the full-scale war, Dmytro served in the 90th separate airmobile battalion named after the Hero of Ukraine, Senior Lieutenant Ivan Zubkov, of the 81st separate airmobile brigade. He held the position of head of the control and technical point. From the first days of the invasion, the fighter, together with his comrades-in-arms, defended Ukraine from the Russian invaders. "We loved each other very much. This is my universe, my air, my Angel. I still feel his love, he often comes to me in dreams, supports me, gives answers to the questions that torment me, hugs, kisses, which is very important to me," said the warrior's wife Ksenia. The body of the paratrooper was cremated. At home, the wife was waiting for Dmytro.
