- A 39-year-old ATO veteran, Dmytro Oliynyk, was killed during a missile strike by Russian occupiers on Mykolaiv. The defender sustained fatal shrapnel wounds to his head and body. Dmytro was born in Lviv. He worked as a rehabilitation doctor. Since 2014, he had been participating in the ATO, fighting as part of the 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade. He had the call sign "Falcon". During battles, he received a serious injury, and that same year he was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree. After the injury, the defender left military service for further treatment and rehabilitation. Doctors recommended him to engage in physical culture for recovery. He chose rowing on ergometers. From 2017, Dmytro began to engage in sports. He participated in the "Invictus Games," including in the USA - in competitions in the Paralympic style. He dreamed of developing veterans' sports in Mykolaiv region. In September 2021, he won silver in rowing on a simulator, covering 337 meters in a minute, and bronze in running, planning to prepare for the 2023 competitions. However, due to the full-scale Russian invasion in 2022, the veteran in the ranks of territorial defense again took up the defense of Ukraine. In the morning of March 29, 2022, Russian occupiers launched a missile strike on the administrative building of the Mykolaiv OVA. Dozens of people were killed at the time, including Dmytro Oliynyk. "Dmytro was a good and bright person. Fair and always happy to help everyone who turned to him. Loved life. Healed and saved everyone who needed help. Family was everything to him. And love for the Motherland. Persistently pursued his dream," said his brother's wife, Olena. "We had many joint projects with him, unfortunately, the war did not allow us to implement them. But now I will keep my word to him, and we will open a Rehabilitation Center for adaptive sports veterans - only after we finish with this scum that killed him," said his comrade-in-arms, Illya, during the farewell. The defender was buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery in his native Lviv. Dmytro is survived by his parents, brother, wife, and daughter.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
