Dmytro O. Surai (Moisei)

Senior soldier Dmytro Suray (call sign Moses) was killed on August 16, 2023, during the assault on enemy positions near the village of Minkivka in the Donetsk region. The defender was forever 28 years old. Dmytro was from the Chernihiv region. He went to the 1st grade in Pryluky, and then his family moved to the city of Ichnia. There he continued his studies at the local secondary school No. 4, then entered the Pryluky Vocational Lyceum, where he mastered the profession of an electric gas welder. Later, he worked at LLC "Goldpack". From 2015, he served in the National Guard of Ukraine in military unit 3036 in Dnipro. Subsequently, he returned to his previous job. In 2017, the man got married. With his wife Oksana, he raised two sons. "He was a kind, calm person, to whom one could turn with any request. He paid a lot of attention and time to his sons, he adored them," said his wife Oksana. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the man voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and on November 8, 2022, he was mobilized. After two months of training, he defended Ukraine in the Donetsk, Luhansk, and Mykolaiv regions. He held the position of radio miner in the 30th separate mechanized brigade. The warrior was buried in the city of Ichnia. Dmytro is survived by his parents, sister, brother, wife, sons, and nephew. Posthumously, the defender was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
