- 30-year-old Sergeant Major Dmytro Yushchenko (call sign Kent) died on July 3, 2024 in a hospital in Dnipro. He was wounded on June 26 while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Pobeda in Donetsk region. Dmytro was born in Chernihiv. He received secondary education at school No. 14. He served his conscription military service and began his career. From 2016-2019, he served under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a tank commander in the 1st Separate Tank Brigade. He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation / Joint Forces Operation. After demobilization, he returned to civilian life and ran his own business. He dedicated his free time to his family, raising three children with his beloved wife. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man again took up the defense of his country. He served in the 119th Separate Brigade of the Territorial Defense. He held the position of squad commander in the 167th Battalion. "Dmytro was always smiling and determined. The best dad, he loved his children Kateryna, Victoria and Denys endlessly. For his comrades-in-arms, he was always a friend and support!" - his wife Aliona said. The defender was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the Yatsevo cemetery in Chernihiv. The warrior is survived by his parents, brother, wife, two daughters and a son. Dmytro Yushchenko was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, 3rd degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
