- Soldier Dmytro Hai (call sign Daf) was killed on November 29, 2022 in the area of the village of Makiivka in Luhansk region. During the performance of a combat mission, he received a fatal gunshot wound. Two months earlier, on September 23, the defender turned 39 years old. Dmytro was a native of Dobropillia, Donetsk region. He received secondary education at the local school No. 7. In civilian life, he worked at a mine, but after a repeated leg injury, he had to leave, so he later worked in construction. He loved to spend his free time with his daughter or friends. He adored animals, often fed stray dogs and cats. And he had a little dog of his own. When the full-scale war began, the man voluntarily joined the ranks of the defenders. He joined the 105th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went to the front line. "About my father, I can only say the warmest words. Thanks to him, I know what boundless love for a loved one is. All his friends know him as a loving father, a very sincere and always smiling person, even in difficult situations he always smiled and said: 'We will settle everything, just don't hang your head.' He smiled through the difficulties and pain he had experienced throughout his life, but he never gave up. From the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he immediately made it clear that he would not stand aside, and without notifying anyone, he went as a volunteer. Despite all the pleas not to go, he said: 'I must!' More than anything, he wanted his loved ones and friends to live under a peaceful sky, so I really want him to be remembered in gratitude," said Yulia Hai. Dmytro was buried in the local cemetery in Dobropillia. He is survived by a brother and a daughter. The soldier was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
