- Born on March 27, 1988, in the city of Chernihiv. In 2005, he graduated from the 9th grade of Chernihiv Secondary School No. 14, then from the Chernihiv Professional Lyceum of the Woodworking Industry. He worked as a furniture assembler at the "Vena" construction hypermarket in Chernihiv. In the winter of 2013-2014, during the Revolution of Dignity, he was repeatedly present at Maidan Nezalezhnosti in Kyiv. In April 2014, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Chernihiv Combined Military Commissariat of Chernihiv Oblast. He served as a shooter in the 1st platoon of the 1st company of the 13th Territorial Defense Battalion "Chernihiv-1" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit field post V2278). From spring-summer 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On August 18, 2014, soldier Polehenko was killed in the area of the village of Makarove in the Stanytsia Luhanska district of Luhansk Oblast during shelling of Ukrainian military positions by Grad multiple rocket launchers and self-propelled artillery systems.
