Dmytro P. Proleskovskyi

Serviceman Dmytro Proleskovsky was killed on January 11, 2023, while performing a combat mission in the Donetsk region. The warrior was 31 years old. Dmytro was born in the village of Nyzhniohirskyi in Crimea. He studied there at the educational complex "School-Gymnasium" No. 3. He then graduated from the National Aerospace University named after Myk ola Zhukovsky "Kharkiv Aviation Institute". He worked in the IT field. Since 2022, he lived with his family in the Lviv region. When the full-scale war began, Dmytro decided to defend Ukraine. He joined the ranks of the 4th separate tank brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky. For personal courage shown during the performance of combat missions, the man was awarded the badge "For Exemplary Service". "We recently lost a friend, a faithful supporter of bats and nature in general. Dmytro Proleskovsky volunteered for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and was killed in the war, defending us from Russian invaders. He was a very brave man with a clear civic position. Together with his wife Dasha, he fought against illegal logging in Kharkiv, supported organizations that care for the protection of animals, and sorted garbage. Dmytro and Dasha were among the first volunteers of our center, since then they have helped a lot in the rehabilitation of bats in winter and released the rescued animals with us in spring. It is so painful that the war is taking away the best of its citizens, who could still do a lot of good for society," the Ukrainian Bat Rehabilitation Center wrote. Dmytro was buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv. He is survived by his wife, brother, and parents.
