- Senior Lieutenant Dmytro Bonchev (call sign Bolhar) died on December 21, 2023 in a hospital in Vinnytsia. On December 8, he sustained serious injuries while carrying out a combat mission in the Krasnohorivka area of Donetsk region. The officer was 33 years old. Dmytro was born in the village of Myrne, Zaporizhzhia region. He graduated from the local school and the Berdyansk College of Mechanical Engineering. He then earned a master's degree in engineering mechanics at the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute". In parallel, he completed the military department and received the rank of junior lieutenant in the reserve. Since 2015, he lived in Myrhorod, Poltava region. He worked as the deputy director in the Eldorado store. In July 2022, the man was drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Dmytro became a warrior of the 79th Separate Airmobile Brigade and went to defend Donetsk region. He commanded a mortar platoon. For his combat merits, he was promoted to the rank of senior lieutenant and awarded the medals "For the Defense of the Homeland" and "For Courage and Honor". "Dmytro was a courageous and brave defender, a caring father, a loving husband and a very good person. According to his comrades-in-arms, he was a skilled and brave warrior, respected and authoritative, his energy and determination charged and united the team. He was sincere, frank, benevolent, a reliable comrade. Dmytro was a professional commander who, while commanding a mortar platoon and issuing appropriate combat orders, stopped dozens of enemy assault actions, destroying dozens of units of combat armored vehicles," the officer's wife said. The paratrooper was buried in Myrhorod, Poltava region. Dmytro is survived by his parents Serhii Dmytrovych and Mariia Dmytrivna, his wife Daryna and daughter Mariia.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
