Dmytro S. Chernopashchenko (Chornyi)

Sergeant Dmytro Chernopashchenko (call sign "Chornyi") made his final stand on April 12, 2024, in the area of the settlement of Spirne in the Donetsk region. In the battle with the occupiers, he suffered fatal injuries during a mortar bombardment. In March, the defender turned 29 years old. Dmytro was born and raised in Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from the Kamianske Metallurgical College. In civilian life, he was engaged in the sale of car parts, which he had always been passionate about. In his free time, he loved to cook. During the full-scale war, the man became a fighter of the National Guard of Ukraine. He fought in the ranks of the 4th Operational Purpose Brigade "Rubizh". He was a squad commander. "My son was not just a child to me - he was the light that illuminated my life. His dedication and courage always set Dima apart from others," said the warrior's mother, Viktoria Mankovska. The National Guard soldier was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the cemetery in his hometown. At home, Dmytro was awaited by his parents, brother, sister, beloved girlfriend, and her two sons.
