Dmytro S. Krasiuk (Cherkasy)

Border guard Dmytro Krasiuk (call sign Cherkasy) was killed on February 20, 2024 in the area of the village of Ivanivske in Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he received fatal injuries as a result of a hostile drone attack. The warrior turned 42 years old in January. Dmytro was born in the village of Shybutyntsi, Chernivtsi region. When he was 2 years old, the family moved to the village of Kavunivka in the Cherkasy region. He graduated from the Cherkasy Higher Vocational School. Later he moved to Lviv. There he worked as a sales consultant in the construction department of "Epicenter". During the full-scale invasion, the man defended his country in the ranks of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. He was a machine gunner of the 3rd (Luhansk) border detachment named after the Hero of Ukraine, Colonel Yevhen Pikus. "Dmytro was a very good family man, a caring host, a loving husband, father, and a faithful comrade. He always came to help without hesitation," said his sister Olena Burkivska. Dmytro was buried in the village of Kavunivka in the Cherkasy region. The defender left behind a mother, wife, daughter, brother and two sisters.
