Dmytro S. Lenda

Soldier Dmytro Lenda (call sign Briton) died on February 7, 2023, during the defense of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. He was killed by enemy artillery fire. The defender was 26 years old. Dmytro was born in the village of Novobahmeteeve, Donetsk region. He studied at the Novooleksandrivska school. In 2017, he graduated from the Kharkiv College of Construction, Architecture and Design. In 2021, he graduated from the Kharkiv National University of Construction and Architecture with a degree in "Construction and Civil Engineering". In civilian life, he worked in a restaurant in Kharkiv. In the autumn of 2022, the man was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He underwent training in the United Kingdom. Later, he fought in the ranks of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodnyi Yar". He held the position of a gunner in the anti-tank platoon. "It is impossible to find a better brother and friend. A kind, cheerful, always smiling guy who loved life very much. For our family, Dima will always be alive, because the memory of him will be eternal," said the deceased's sister. Dmytro was buried in his native village. He is survived by his mother Iryna, sister Yulia, nephew, and other relatives and friends. The military was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
