Dmytro S. Nikolenko

38-year-old soldier Dmytro Nikolenko was killed on September 5, 2022 during battles near the village of Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. The defender received fatal shrapnel wounds during the shelling. Dmytro was born in the village of Chkalove, Kherson region. He graduated from the local school and immediately went to work. His father was a farmer, so Dmytro worked in his fields. And then all his further work was related to the land. In his free time, he loved to fish. He participated in the ATO from the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war. During the full-scale war, the man was mobilized into the ranks of the 79th separate air assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a grenade launcher of the 2nd airborne assault battalion. "He was a good, sensitive person who always came to help everyone. He was a good family man and a good father," said his ex-wife Lyudmyla. The serviceman was buried at the Matviyivske cemetery in Mykolaiv. Dmytro left behind a daughter.
