- Sergeant Dmytro Demyanenko (call sign Kamaz) was killed on May 5, 2023, in a battle with the occupiers near the village of Hoptivka in the Kharkiv region. The defender was 32 years old. Dmytro was born in the city of Zmiyiv, Kharkiv region. He studied at school No. 2. Then he obtained the profession of a landscape designer at a vocational school. He worked as a driver, security guard, and odd-job worker. For some time, he worked in a forestry farm. He loved football and was interested in cars. In 2016, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in Donbas. On February 24, 2022, Dmytro, with the words "Who, if not me?", took up arms again to fight the occupiers and defend his native lands. He joined the ranks of the 121st separate battalion of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took the position of a grenade launcher assistant and went to the front line. "I will love you forever, my Hero," wrote the deceased's sister, Yana. "Defending the Motherland from the Russian aggressor, the serviceman of the Krasnohrad separate battalion of the Territorial Defense Forces, Dmytro Demyanenko, was killed. Defending the borders of his native Kharkiv region from the insidious Russian terrorists, the best sons of Ukraine are passing from the earthly to the heavenly ranks, forever carving their names in golden letters in the recent history of a free and independent state. It is very painful for each one. We must remember every day the price paid for our lives. We share the burning pain of loss with the relatives and comrades-in-arms of the courageous hero. We bow our heads in deep sorrow," the Krasnohrad District State Administration stated. The warrior was buried in his hometown.
