- Soldier Dmytro Fomenko (call sign Dimon) was killed on July 1, 2022 in the area of the village of Pavlivka, Donetsk region. The defender was 42 years old. Dmytro was born and lived in Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk region. After school, he graduated from Sievierodonetsk Vocational School No. 1. He worked at the local MNVK and at the same time studied at the Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University. He was interested in chemistry, biology, history and geography. He had many friends. He was a patriot, confident that Ukraine would be free. In 2014, he was involved in volunteering when the war began. In 2015, he decided to serve himself. At first, he was in the Luhansk-1 battalion, then in the 17th separate tank brigade. Since 2021, he has served in the 24th separate assault battalion "Aidar". He was the deputy commander of the combat vehicle - gunner-operator. "Dmytro was a good son, the best brother, a worthy patriot of his Motherland. Faithful to the military oath and Ukraine," said his sister Marina. The defender was buried at the Krasnopilskyi cemetery in Dnipro. Dmytro is survived by his mother and sister. Soldier Dmytro Fomenko was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree, but the fighter did not have time to receive the award.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
