- 43-year-old senior soldier Dmytro Khlyshchov (call sign Sych) was killed on May 29, 2022, near the village of Nyrkove in the Luhansk region. While defending the "road of life" from Bakhmut to Lysychansk, he received fatal injuries during an enemy mortar shelling. Dmytro was born and lived in Kyiv. He graduated from school No. 276. From 1999 to 2009, he obtained three higher education degrees in law and a master's in accounting and auditing. He worked as an auditor-inspector in the State Border Guard Service, a financial analyst in the State Financial Monitoring Service, and as an authorized person in the NAPK. He received numerous certificates, awards, and letters of gratitude for his diligent work and high professionalism. In his free time, he loved fishing, mushroom picking, playing chess, and reading. During the full-scale war, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his homeland from the occupiers. He served in the 72nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Black Zaporizhians. "Dima was a true and devoted patriot of Ukraine. A beloved husband, a loving son and brother, a loyal friend. Always smiling, positive, bright, with a sincere and kind heart. When I said I was scared because there were more enemies, he replied: 'History is always made by the minority.' He was absolutely confident in victory and incredibly loved life. I am proud of him. I will love him forever," said the beloved of the fallen. "How could this happen, Dimka, my friend? How can we come to terms with this? Friend, you were super positive, cheerful, modest, brave, an unwavering optimist. You were the best. How can we be without you? This must be a mistake. Friend, hero, please come back," wrote his friend Andriy. The soldier was buried at the Lisove Cemetery in his native Kyiv. Dmytro is survived by his mother, sister, brother, beloved woman, relatives, and friends. Posthumously, senior soldier Dmytro Khlyshchov was awarded the Order of Courage III class.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
