Dmytro V. Kyrychenko (Kirych)

Volunteer Dmytro Kirychenko (call sign Kiryich) was killed on March 24, 2022, during the liberation of the village of Lukyanivka in the Kyiv region from the occupiers. He was only 25 years old. Dmytro was born in the settlement of Chopovychi in the Zhytomyr region. He lived in the capital. He stu at the Kyiv Mechanical and Technological Vocational College, specializing as a welding production technician. He was married and was expecting his first child with his beloved. However, he did not get to see his long-awaited daughter. With the onset of the full-scale Russian invasion, he took up arms to defend the country as part of the volunteer battalion "Revansh." He was a commander of a reconnaissance platoon. From the first days, he defended Kyiv and the region from Russian occupiers. "There were no pages in Dmytro's biography that he could be ashamed of. He was passionate in every task he undertook. His cool mind and warm heart were an example for all his comrades," said battalion commander Bohdan Khodakivskyi. "May the earth be light for Dmytro, who defended it, and a low bow to his mother for raising such a heroic son! He was very cheerful, joyful, and kind!" wrote Lyudmyla Nedashkivska. The defender was buried in his native village. Dmytro is survived by his wife and daughter, who will never get to know her father. Posthumously, Dmytro Kirychenko was awarded the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine's badge "For Assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine."
