- Senior soldier Dmytro Martynenko (call sign Oksid) was killed on March 31, 2022, during the defense against Russian occupiers in Mariupol. On February 21, the warrior turned 26 years old. Dmytro Martynenko was born in the village of Nemishaieve in the Kyiv region. He mastered the profession of an economist at the National University of Bioresources and Nature Management of Ukraine. He dreamed of being a military man and wanted to organize a training ground for anyone interested in military shooting. He was interested in cars and loved animals. After receiving his diploma, he decided to make his dream come true and joined the military service. Since 2017, Dmytro was a fighter of the National Guard's Special Purpose Regiment "Azov." He then settled in Mariupol. There he encountered the full-scale invasion and immediately took up the defense of the city. Dmytro held the position of senior machine gunner and always bravely went into battle. However, he was not destined to see victory. "My Dmytro was a good, caring, loving son and brother, a considerate husband. He is a hero who, without hesitation, took up the defense of his homeland," said Olena Chumak. On January 27, 2024, the "Azov" soldier was buried in the village of Plakhtyanka in Kyiv region. Dmytro is survived by his mother, wife, brothers, and sister. Posthumously, the hero was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
