- 32-year-old military man Dmytro Mashivskyi was killed on March 23, 2023 near the village of Krokhmalne in the Kharkiv region. While carrying out a combat mission, he sustained fatal injuries as a result of enemy tank shelling. Dmytro was from the village of Kozhychi in the Lviv region. He graduated from the Lviv Technical School of Dairy and Meat Industry of NUHP. He worked in the restaurant "Puzata Khata" and received the best reviews for his attitude towards professional duties. He loved his work and dedicated his free time to his family. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man without hesitation stood up to defend his country. Dmytro joined the ranks of the 103rd separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a mortar squad member in the mortar battery. "He was a strong, smiling and kind person, a loving husband, a wonderful father to his two underage children, a good son and brother, a reliable friend and a fair comrade-in-arms! He was a very hardworking, kind, and courageous person. A brave warrior, a true patriot of Ukraine, who honorably fulfilled his duty to protect his state and remained faithful to the oath until the last. For over a year, together with his comrades-in-arms, he carried out combat missions in the East of our country. He sacrificed himself for the sake of victory, for the sake of our freedom," wrote his wife Hanna. "Dmytro was calm, capable, balanced. He was a wonderful husband and father, a support and a pillar for his parents, a good example for his brother. He is remembered as a kind, bright, determined, hardworking person who will fight to the end," said family friend Diana Rozdolska. The defender was buried in his native village. Dmytro is survived by his parents, brother, wife, daughter, son, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.
