Dmytro V. Zelenyi

Soldier Dmytro Zeleny (call sign Zeleny) died on December 13, 2023 near the village of Synkivka in the Kharkiv region. While carrying out a combat mission, he suffered a fatal explosive injury. Dmytro was born in the village of Klevan in the Rivne region. He graduated from the Klevan Vocational School and obtained the profession of a cook-confectioner. In civilian life, he worked as a commercial agent at Ukrzaliznytsia. He devoted his free time to his family and loved ones. In June 2022, the man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Initially, he was a cook in the 117th Mechanized Brigade. Later, he was transferred to the position of a rifleman in the 115th Separate Mechanized Brigade. "He always tried to be positive and help others. When the war started, the man said: 'I have to be there to protect my family.' And when he was drafted on June 6, 2022, he said: 'I'm needed by my guys.' For me, he will forever remain my dear and beloved hero-angel," said the wife of the fallen Tetyana. Denys was buried in the village of Zorya in the Rivne region, where he lived with his family. The defender left behind his parents, wife, relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms. The soldier was posthumously awarded the honorary badge "Combatant's Cross" and the Order of Courage of the III degree.
