- Junior Lieutenant Dmytro Churikov (call sign Hannibal) died in the hospital on June 12, 2023 from severe injuries. On June 8, during the performance of a combat mission, he came under enemy artillery fire between the city of Krasnohorivka and the village of Nevelske in the Donetsk region. The officer would have turned 34 years old on November 19. Dmytro was born in Vinnytsia. Since childhood, he lived in the city of Haisyn, Vinnytsia region. There he studied at school No. 6. He then graduated from the Kyiv Institute of Business and Technology with a degree in "Finance and Credit". After graduation, he worked as a warehouseman and dispatcher at the Konti and Vilar enterprises, and later decided to devote himself to the military profession, which he had liked since childhood. In his free time, he was engaged in sports, in particular weightlifting. He loved cars and dreamed of buying his own. Since 2017, the man has been serving under a contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a fighter of the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Yakov Handziuk. He participated in the ATO / JFO. During the full-scale war, Dmytro held the position of commander of the anti-aircraft missile platoon of the anti-aircraft missile and artillery battery of the anti-aircraft missile and artillery division. From the first days of the invasion, together with his comrades-in-arms, he continued to defend Ukraine from the invaders. "The best man, a wonderful father. He was killed, and the impression is as if I was killed with him..." wrote the officer's wife Tetiana. The warrior was buried in Haisyn, Vinnytsia region. Dmytro is survived by his parents, wife, two sons, sister, two brothers, niece, other relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
