Dmytro Yu. Takun

Senior Soldier Dmytro Takun was killed on September 24, 2022 during combat operations near the village of Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. The defender was forever 30 years old. Dmytro was born in the city of Rivne. He first studied at the local gymnasium No. 24, and then at school No. 17. He then enrolled at the Rivne Center for Vocational and Technical Education of Service and Design. He studied to be a computer typist. He served conscription. In civilian life, he worked as a sales consultant at Epicenter. He was interested in jiu-jitsu and led a healthy lifestyle. With the start of the full-scale invasion, he voluntarily took up the defense of his native state. He served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of grenade launcher assistant. "He went as a volunteer. He went there not for a day or two, he begged. He said that he was alone, without a wife, without children, nothing was holding him here, so he would go... He joked all the time... He even told his mother that he would just pass the medical examination. And since he had vision problems, he would most likely be discharged. Dmytro's father was killed long ago, so his mother, grandmother, godfather Valentyn, friends and girlfriend became his support. Dmytro did not share his future plans with anyone, he said that the main thing was to return home...," the Rivne City Council wrote. The defender was buried in the Tynne cemetery in his hometown. Dmytro is survived by his mother, grandmother, godfather, and girlfriend. Ivanova Street in Rivne was renamed in honor of Dmytro Takun.
