- 48-year-old Senior Sergeant Eduard Bilyi (call sign Edos) was killed on June 21, 2023 near the village of Dibrova in the Luhansk region. When Ukrainian defenders were holding positions during the enemy's offensive, a mine hit them, as a result of which the soldier received fatal injuries. Eduard was born in the village of Myzynivka, Cherkasy region. He lived most of his life in Cherkasy. He graduated from the Shevchenko Hydromelioration College, where he obtained the qualification of a hydromelioration technician. After serving in the army, he worked in Cherkasy as an investigator's assistant, then as an inspector in the tax police, and later as a senior cash-in-transit officer at PrivatBank. For the last three years, he worked as the head of security at the grain company Khors. He was interested in hunting, had a permit for a personal shotgun, which he bought a year before the war, but never had a chance to use it. He loved fishing, relaxing with his family and friends in nature. During the full-scale war, the man voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 67th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He was the commander of an anti-tank guided missile section. He carried out combat missions in various hot spots of the front. "Edik loved life, his family, friends and relatives, but most of all he loved his native land, Ukraine, his Motherland. He always said: 'I serve the people of Ukraine.' He never refused and hurried to help people. He looked to the future with optimism and hope for the better. He was the best of us. And for us, and for our country, he spared nothing. He gave the most precious thing he had - his life, for our freedom," said the sister of the fallen Ruslana Neads. The warrior was buried in the Alley of Glory of cemetery No. 4 in Cherkasy. Eduard is survived by his parents, brother, sister, civil wife, loyal friends and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
