Eduard I. Samsonovych

Soldier Eduard Samsonovych was killed on November 17, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the village of Yakovlivka, Donetsk region. The life of the warrior was cut short by a bullet from an enemy sniper. He was 43 years old. Eduard was born in the city of Kitsman, Chernivtsi region. He graduated from the Kitsman State Agrarian Technical School and settled in Lviv. He worked in construction. He loved to help his wife around the household. In 2020, he went to serve under contract in the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took part in combat operations in the area of the Joint Forces Operation. During the full-scale war, Eduard defended Ukraine in the ranks of the 109th Separate Battalion of the 10th Brigade. He was a rifleman. "We never had the concept of 'women's work' or 'men's work'. If he came home from work earlier, he would cook, and if we had weekends together, we always did everything together. He always fought for justice. His words: 'I sleep in a dugout at war so that you can sleep in a bed...' My most precious defender... How are we to survive such grief? How am I to go to Kitsman if you are no longer there? You are our pride and our incurable soul pain... You will live in our hearts until the last breath..." said the defender's wife, Maria. The serviceman was buried in his hometown. Eduard is survived by his parents, wife, and stepson.
