Eldar R. Ivchak (Kit)

Marine Corps Sergeant Eldar Ivchak (call sign Cat) was killed on August 22, 2024 in the area of the village of Kozachi Laheri in the Kherson region. During the performance of a combat mission, he came under artillery fire and received a shrapnel wound to the head. The warrior is now forever 23 years old. Eldar was born in the village of Shyrokyi Yar, Zaporizhia region. In 2020, he graduated from the Zaporizhia Vocational Lyceum of Motor Transport and obtained the profession of a vehicle repair mechanic and driver. In civilian life, he worked as a bartender in the restaurant "Workshop of Food and Smoke" in Zaporizhia. During the full-scale war, the man fought for his country in the ranks of the Ukrainian Navy. He was a scout of the 35th separate brigade of the Marine Corps named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrohradskyy. "Eldar was a wonderful person, the best husband, a good friend, he was always the soul of the company, cheerful, kind, caring, loved honesty and justice. He really wanted to protect his family, so he went to the army," said his wife Oksana. The defender was buried at the Kapustianyi Cemetery in Zaporizhia. Eldar is survived by his mother, wife, brother and grandmother.
