Feliks V. Kurtanich (Lys Podilskyi)

Kuртaнiч Фeлiкс Вaлeрiйoвич was born on November 16, 1996, in the village of Hryzhyntsi, Tyvriv district, Vinnytsia region. He was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity. At that time, he was studying at the Chernihiv Lyceum with enhanced military and sports training. In 2014, he enrolled at the Vinnytsia Trade and Economic Institute. In 2015, he went to war as part of the Donbas battalion. He fought in Avdiivka, Pisky, Shyrokyne, and Popasna. After the Donbas battalion, he served in the OUN, Carpathian Sich, and Aidar battalions. In 2020, he was demobilized and returned to civilian life. He was killed on April 17, 2022, during an artillery barrage in the village of Lozova, Donetsk region. His body was identified through DNA analysis. He was buried in his native village of Hryzhyntsi. He is survived by his parents, sister, and grandmother. For his personal courage and selfless actions in defending the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as his loyalty to the military oath, Kuртaнiч Фeлiкс Вaлeрiйoвич was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, 3rd degree.
