- Sergeant Gennady Pinchuk (call sign Sheriff) died on December 28, 2022 in a hospital in Dnipro. Two days earlier, during the performance of a combat mission near Avdiivka in the Donetsk region, the fighter was hit by a bullet from an enemy sniper. At the beginning of the month, the defender turned 54 years old. Gennady was born in the village of Khynochy, Rivne region. After training, he served in the military in Afghanistan. He graduated from the Ivano-Frankivsk Police School. He was a district police officer. Then he graduated from the Kyiv National Academy of Internal Affairs. He worked in the Rivne region. When the idea of creating the first "Sheriff's House" in Ukraine arose, Gennady was chosen as a principled, experienced and responsible specialist. In 2001-2011 he worked in the village of Klevan, Rivne region. He retired with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He was engaged in gardening, loved to work with wood. With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Gennady could not remain on the sidelines, so he took up the defense of his native country. He joined the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after General-Ensign Marko Bezruchko and went to war. "We got married in 1998. In 2008, our son was born, whom Gennady had been waiting for and loved more than anything. He built a house for the family, planted dozens of trees, raised a wonderful son, had so many more plans, could and wanted to do so much, but the cursed war took him away. He had an acute sense of justice. He always told the truth. He could have lived his own life, but voluntarily went to war, because he did not understand how he could be at home when the inexperienced were fighting. In our memory, he will forever remain a resolute, fair, demanding of himself and others, a Man with a capital letter, who should have lived and lived, raised grandchildren, worked for the benefit of Ukraine... But he gave his life for its independence and our freedom," said the widow of the fallen Tetyana. The defender was buried in the village of Klevan, Rivne region. Gennady is survived by his wife and son.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
