Hennadii M. Tarasov

Senior soldier Gennady Tarasov was killed on June 25, 2023, during a hostile assault in the area of the village of Minkivka, Donetsk region. The warrior was 45 years old. Gennady was from the city of Smila, Cherkasy region. He studied at school No. 4 there. He then graduated with honors from the Smilya Technical School of Food Industry. Since 1999, he lived in Kyiv. He worked as a sales manager for plumbing equipment. He loved sports, hunting, and fishing. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and went to war. He served in the 3rd separate assault brigade, holding the position of senior rifleman - operator of the mechanized unit. "Gennady was an honest, kind person, devoted to his convictions. He considered it his duty to defend the country," said the deceased's brother Sergiy Alekseyev. "Everyone loved Gennady, he was very responsible, persistent, kind and always cheerful. In the hearts of relatives and acquaintances, he will forever remain a true patriot, a true Hero with a big, kind heart," added the Smila City Council. The defender was buried at the Zahreblyansky cemetery in his native Smila.Gennady is survived by his parents and brother.
