- 55-year-old Sergeant Hennadii Tiamchyk (call sign Grandfather) died on November 15, 2022 in a hospital in Kharkiv. While performing his duties in the village of Novosilske, Luhansk region, the soldier sustained serious injuries as a result of enemy shelling. Hennadii was born and lived in the village of Vasylivka, Sumy region. He graduated from a vocational school in the city of Vorozhba and obtained the profession of a tractor driver. He worked at the experimental farm "Pravdynske". He was passionate about hunting and fishing. During the full-scale war, in April 2022, the man was conscripted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Koshovy Otaman Ivan Sirko. He was a tank mechanic-driver of the tank company of the tank battalion. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended the Kharkiv and Luhansk regions. "My father is an example of patriotism, indomitability, courage, and resilience. 'Who, if not me?' he said on the first day and went to defend the borders. Always in a positive mood. He loved his country and loved to live," the deceased's daughter said. Hennadii was buried on the Alley of Glory in the city of Okhtyrka, Sumy region. He is survived by his wife Valentyna, daughter Kateryna, other relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms. The defender was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree and the medal "Defender of the Fatherland".Memory Platform 'Memorial'
