Hennadii Yu. Lekh (Lieshyi)

Military serviceman Hennadiy Lech (call sign Leshiy) was killed on September 22, 2022, during an artillery shelling in the area of the village of Berestove in Donetsk region. The defender was 45 years old forever. Hennadiy was born in the town of Pershotravensk in Zhytomyr region. He graduated from the Prykarpattya Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine with a degree in "Law Enforcement Activities," but worked as a builder. The man settled in the village of Poninka in Khmelnytskyi region, had a family, and raised children. In his free time, he went hunting. After the start of the full-scale war, Hennadiy joined the ranks of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade and went to defend Ukraine from the occupiers. "An extraordinary patriot and a wonderful person, a father, husband, and son. He had golden hands, was a great specialist and master. He said he was ready to give his life for peace in Ukraine and our tranquility. He will always live in our hearts," said his wife Maya. "Hennadiy was kind, sincere, a true patriot, had many more plans and dreams in life, but it was not meant to be... Unfortunately, the cursed war takes the best. We will never forgive the Russian occupiers for this! Never! We deeply mourn and sympathize with Hennadiy's entire family," noted the Shepetivka community. Hennadiy Lech was buried in the town of Poninka in Khmelnytskyi region. The residents of the settlement said goodbye to the defender by creating a living corridor in his honor. At home, his mother, three sisters, wife, and two minor children were waiting for him.
