Heorhii O. Nistrian (Moldovan)

43-year-old soldier Georgiy Nistryan (call sign Moldovan) was killed on May 21, 2023 in the battle for the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. The defender's life was cut short by enemy mortar fire. Georgiy was from the village of Tarasivtsi in the Chernivtsi region. He received secondary education at the local school. He got married and started a family. He lived and worked on his native land, engaged in agricultural work. He spent his free time with his family. On March 28, 2023, Georgiy was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade "Edelweiss". "His great courage and self-sacrifice will forever remain in our hearts," the community noted. The military was buried in his native village. At home, Georgiy was awaited by his mother, wife and three children. In July 2024, a memorial plaque in honor of the fallen warrior was unveiled in Tarasivtsi.
