Heorhii P. Semeniuk (Zhuravel)

Combat medic Heorhii Semeniuk (call sign Zhuravl) was killed on September 25, 2023 near the settlement of Dibrova in the Luhansk region. While performing his duties, he received fatal injuries during an enemy artillery barrage. On October 5, the defender would have turned 31 years old. Heorhii was born in the village of Staryi Porytsk, Volyn region. After school, he obtained the profession of a cook-confectioner at the Ovadnivskyi Vocational Lyceum. In 2015-2017, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under contract and participated in the ATO. Then he returned to civilian life. He worked, provided for the family he loved above all else. With the start of the full-scale war, the man returned to the army and went to the front. Heorhii fought as part of the 100th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At first, he defended the northern borders of Ukraine on the border with Belarus. From March 2023, together with his comrades-in-arms, he successfully carried out combat missions in the eastern direction. He received several concussions, but continued to courageously fulfill his duty. "I love you forever, forever in my heart..." wrote the wife of the fallen Tetiana. The warrior was buried in his native village. At home, he was awaited by his mother, wife, son and daughter. Posthumously, Junior Sergeant Heorhii Semeniuk was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
