Heorhii V. Toropovskyi (Hunter)

Since the age of 10, he was engaged in the Boryspil military-patriotic club "Ratoborets" and had a black belt in taekwondo. Zhora, as everyone called him, was raised by his mother. When the boy was in the 8th grade, they moved to the capital. He studied at the aviation institute and was involved in speleology. He was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity. At the end of June, he went to the East as a volunteer, hiding his age; he was only 17 years old at the time. On January 29, 2015, on the Day of Remembrance of the Heroes of Kruty, an exhibition-requiem "Heroes Do Not Die!" was opened at the branch of the National Military History Museum of Ukraine in Chernihiv region, based on the photo archives of two soldiers who passed into eternity that fateful September: conscript soldier of the National Guard of Ukraine Vadym Naumov and Georgiy Toropovskyi — a former student of the capital aviation college, a fighter of the self-defense of Euromaidan, and later a soldier of the 40th battalion of territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Kryvbas"… The fates of Vadym and Georgiy, who did not know each other, were intertwined by the turbulent events of modern Ukrainian history: both, although on different sides, went through the hell of barricade clashes (it was during those days that the boys started to burn things "out of nerves"), and both later stood up to defend their native state… Both were the only sons of their mothers…
