- 27-year-old junior sergeant Georgiy Lipsky (call sign Kity) was killed on August 29, 2022, during the Ukrainian forces' offensive in the Kherson region. Georgiy was from Odessa region. He was a local activist: a volunteer and co-founder of the "Law of Nature" NGO. For some time, he was engaged in private entrepreneurship, and in 2020, he ran for the Odessa City Council as a representative of the "National Corps" party. With the beginning of the full-scale war, Georgiy joined the "Chimera" unit of the 126th separate brigade of the territorial defense of Odessa. After training at the training ground, Kity, along with his comrades, went to the Kherson direction. He was the commander of the department. He was twice wounded, but did not leave the front line. Even in hot spots, the fighter was worried about homeless animals and tried to save them. After the end of the war, Georgiy Lipsky planned to develop an environmental project to restore Ukraine's nature and continue to save animals. "The occupant came to our land, and in order to save all the animals in the country, you need to have this country," Georgiy said. "Zhora was a unique person! Brave, courageous, manly, kind. Before the war, he saved animals, helped the zoo, was an active public figure. And even being on the positions, he continued to save animals and birds. A true warrior, the flower of the Ukrainian nation," a close friend said. "It's unbelievable... The damned war and all those who organized and supported it... It was a wonderful Person... It's unfair to take such people to heaven," friend Viktoriya Sklyar wrote. "Thanks to Georgiy, his comrades, his brothers-in-arms were able to complete the combat mission. Despite the fact that Georgiy came to the Ukrainian Armed Forces as a soldier, he was an exemplary serviceman and was awarded the rank of junior sergeant," comrade-in-arms Mykola Pavlenko said. The defender was buried in his native Odessa region.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
