Hryhorii H. Hlushchenko

Sergeant Grigory Glushenko was killed on February 25, 2022, defending Kyiv region from Russian occupiers. Near the city of Yahotyn, the enemy fired on a military column. The warrior, who was in the cover car, sustained fatal injuries. He was a month away from his 32nd birthday. Grigory was born in the village of Prosyane in Luhansk region. He was the youngest of eight children. He graduated as a tractor driver from Markivske Professional and Technical School. He served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine under contract from 2009-2015. He supported the Revolution of Dignity and participated in the ATO in Donbas. He then returned home and engaged in farming. In 2021, the man returned to the military. He held the position of platoon commander for material support of the rocket division of the 156th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment named after Maxim Kryvonos. In the first days of the full-scale war, Grigory's unit was sent to defend the Kyiv region. On March 27, 2022, on his birthday, the warrior planned to marry his beloved. But it was not meant to be. "Grigory loved cars, was ready to help everyone. A caring son. He helped his parents with words and deeds. He will forever remain in our memory as a cheerful and sincere trickster," said the sister of the deceased, Oleksandra. The defender was buried in the city of Cherkasy. Grigory left behind his mother, brothers, sisters, and fiancée. Sergeant Grigory Glushenko was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage III degree.
