Hryhorii I. Krichun (Smalyts)

Soldier Hryhoriy Krichun (call sign Smalits) was killed on March 1, 2024 near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. He sustained a shrapnel wound incompatible with life. Hryhoriy was 46 years old. He was born and lived in Chernivtsi. In civilian life, he worked as a construction worker on private construction sites. He adored motorcycles and bicycles - both riding and repairing them. He could do everything with his own hands. In October 2023, he took up the defense of Ukraine. He joined the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade. He held the position of a machine gunner. He was awarded the "Veteran of War" badge. "My father was a very good person. Always cheerful, sensitive. He had golden hands," wrote his daughter Alina. The warrior was buried in the Alley of Glory of the central cemetery in Chernivtsi. Hryhoriy is survived by his mother, wife, daughter and son.
