Hryhorii M. Poperechnyi

Born on July 14, 1971, in the village of Plebanivka, Shargorod district, Vinnytsia region. Graduated from high school. Served in the ranks of the Armed Forces during mandatory military service. On April 24, 2015, he was mobilized to the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Shargorod District Military Commissariat of Vinnytsia region. He served in the repair and restoration battalion of the 24th separate mechanized brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0998 (field post V4680), city of Yavoriv, Lviv region). Participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On May 11, 2016, senior soldier Poperechny fell ill while on duty in the village of Varvarivka, Kreminskyi district, Luhansk region. The serviceman was taken to the intensive care unit of the Kreminska district hospital. Doctors fought for the life of Hryhoriy Poperechny, but their efforts were in vain. On the same day, the serviceman died from acute pancreatitis. On May 15, 2016, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Plebanivka, Shargorod district, Vinnytsia region.
