Junior Sergeant Hryhoriy Mysyuga (call sign Gryphon) was killed in action on July 25, 2022, while performing a combat mission in the area of the village of Berestove in Donetsk region. The warrior was 50 years old. Hryhoriy was born in the city of Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk region. He graduated from the Kalush Chemical and Technological College. He worked as a translator from English and Italian. In his free time, he loved to read books and listen to rock music. He was a participant in the ATO. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Hryhoriy became a fighter of the 10th separate mountain assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of commander of the department. "I consider my husband a real hero. I am proud that he participated in the war in eastern Ukraine in 2014-2018. And after that, from the very beginning of the Russian invasion, he went to the military commissariat and joined the ranks of the defenders of the Motherland," his wife said. "An experienced fighter who went through the hellish battles of the ATO in the areas of Popasna, Bakhmut, Krymske, Novooleksandrivka, etc. Hryhoriy went to war with the Moscow enemy on the very first day of the full-scale invasion. Gryphon was extremely wise and brave in battle. Tactician and strategist. No unnecessary movement and panic. Always shared experience with younger ones. "Every day should start with positive emotions," the commander said. "We work in a coordinated manner and come out alive. We change positions in time. It's not worth assuming the thought that this day can be the last..." And this day will not be the last! HERO Hryhoriy Mysyuga will live forever in our hearts and thoughts! Thank you for your courage and self-sacrifice!" - noted in the Kalush City Council. The defender was buried on the Alley of Glory in his hometown. Hryhoriy left behind his wife Olena, daughter Sabina, three sons: Stanislav, Matviy, and Taras.
