Hryhorii V. Kosiak

34-year-old soldier Hryhoriy Kosiak (call sign Kum) died on September 30, 2023, during an enemy artillery shelling near the village of Rivnopil in the Donetsk region. Hryhoriy was born in the village of Skobeleve, Mykolaiv region. He lived in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region. There he graduated from the Center for Training and Retraining of Workers No. 1. He was a profession electric and gas welder. In civilian life, he worked at a local construction company. He loved cars and music. On February 24, 2023, the man voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought as part of the 127th separate brigade of territorial defense. He held the position of a rifleman-sniper in the 227th battalion. He defended the Kharkiv, Sumy and Donetsk regions. "He was a loving husband and a wonderful dad. Cheerful, reliable, always ready to help. He never stood aside, he was an example for us in everything," said the wife of the fallen Veronika. Hryhoriy was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Central Cemetery in Kryvyi Rih. At home, the defender was awaited by his parents, sister, wife and son. The warrior was posthumously awarded the badge "For Merit to the City" of the III degree and a memorial plaque was opened at the professional institution he graduated from.
