Biography
Tsekhmistrenka Hryhoriy Vitaliyovych was born on December 19, 1994, in Rivne, Ukraine, in the family of the founder of the agricultural holding "Rayz", dollar millionaire Vitaliy Tsekhmistrenka, who was on the list of the 200 richest Ukrainians and whose assets were estimated at 291 million dollars. He studied at school No. 89 in the Pechersk district of Kyiv. From childhood, he studied English and Spanish, played chess, rugby, and volleyball, practiced taekwondo, swimming, and snowboarding, and went canoeing and kayaking. From 2011, he lived in Canada and the USA together with his father. In 2013, the family returned to Ukraine. He participated in the Revolution of Dignity. On February 18, 2014, during the "peaceful offensive," law enforcement officers beat and detained many activists. Among them, Hryhoriy Tsekhmistrenka ended up in the Desnianskyi District Police Department, where he suffered a concussion as a result of a blow from a police baton. With the start of the Russian-Ukrainian war, he tried to get to the front, but his father left him without documents in Canada so that Hryhoriy could not fly to Ukraine. In 2019, he received Canadian citizenship. He studied to be a military medic at a military university in Malta, took paramedic courses and military training in Poland, Denmark, and the USA. Between studies, he actively traveled the world, worked in hospitals in Mexico, Tanzania, and South Africa, and helped Christian missionaries in Zimbabwe. On January 15, 2022, he flew from Canada to conduct training for paramedics and shooters in Ukraine. With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he was part of the Azov Regiment and took part in the battles for Hostomel, Moschun, and Irpin. After the battles for the Kyiv region, from April 2022, he was a volunteer medic in the International Legion of the Territorial Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in which he took part in the battles for Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Bakhmut. He died on January 15, 2023, near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, covering his wounded comrades. He was buried on January 20, 2023, in the village of Chabany in the Kyiv region.Military service
