Hryhorii V. Volobuiev (Diadia)

Junior Sergeant Hryhoriy Volobuyev (call sign Uncle) was killed on April 8, 2023, during enemy artillery shelling in Bakhmut, Donetsk region. One day before this, the warrior turned 46 years old. Hryhoriy was born in the village of Okhocha, Kharkiv region, in a worker's family. He studied at the Okhocha secondary school and then served his conscription. From March 1997, he worked at the SPRAT "Okhocha", later holding the position of chief engineer of the Kharkiv branch at the "Interbiznes" company. In 2014-2015, he participated in the war in eastern Ukraine. With the start of the full-scale invasion, being a patriot of his country, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine without hesitation. He fought as part of the 127th separate territorial defense brigade. He held the position of commander of the 2nd rifle squad of the 1st rifle platoon of the 2nd rifle company. In 2014, he was awarded a letter of gratitude from the Eastern Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. Hryhoriy Volobuyev also received an award from the Kharkiv border service for conscientious performance of official duties, the award of the President of Ukraine "For participation in the ATO" and the badge "Honorary Distinction of the 127th separate territorial defense brigade" of the III degree. "He was always confident that everything would be fine, and constantly said: 'Who, if not us, will defend our Ukraine!'" his wife Natalia said. Hryhoriy was buried in his native village. He is survived by his father, wife, and two sons.
