Hryhorii Yu. Shevchenko

Soldier Hryhoriy Shevchenko was killed on May 17, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the village of Volodymyrivka in Donetsk region. The fighter was 37 years old. Hryhoriy was born and lived in Odesa. He stu at the local school No. 44. He then obtained a higher education at the Odesa National Academy of Food Technologies. He worked as an IT specialist. He loved to travel, craft, learn new things, develop himself, and read. After his first marriage, he met his love, but he never managed to get married. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought against the occupiers as part of the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh. He was a senior gunner of the grenade launcher unit. Together with his comrades, he held back the enemy in Donbas. “I am the mother of his daughter. We never managed to get married... There was, is, and will be no one like him. We were supposed to be happy. Hryshko was a very bright and good person. A wonderful man, partner, and a good, loving father. I don't know how to explain to the child when she grows up why her dad was killed... He will forever be in our memories and our hearts!” said Darya, the beloved woman of the fallen soldier. The defender was buried at the Western Cemetery in Odesa. Hryhoriy is survived by his father, son, ex-wife, daughter, and common-law wife.
