Ihor A. Pastushenko

Senior soldier Ihor Pastushenko (call sign Pastyr) died on September 19, 2023, during an enemy mortar attack near the village of Verbove in the Zaporizhia region. The warrior was 30 years old. Ihor was a native of the village of Dzyunkiv in the Vinnytsia region. He lived in the village of Kyslyak. He graduated from the Vinnytsia Technical College and obtained the profession of an automotive mechanic. He worked as a driver in the village of Kyslyak, where he settled and started a family. His last place of work was LLC "PK Zorya Podillya". He devoted his free time to his family and friends, and also repaired cars. During the full-scale invasion, the man was drafted into the ranks of the 80th separate air assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a platoon commander. He underwent military training in Germany and sergeant courses. "Ihor was a very caring and sensitive man and father, a loyal friend who always came to help, a dedicated and faithful Ukrainian. He always believed that Ukraine is the best country. When they tried to persuade him to go abroad, he always refused, as he valued every moment in his native home," his wife Olha said. The paratrooper was buried in his native village of Dzyunkiv. Ihor is survived by his parents, wife, daughter, son, sister, nephews, and grandmothers.
